Uh oh. According to Jpost, there’s now a debate over the ownership of David.
I don’t know how this is going to affect my, my blog, my self-image and my avatar. I’ve been happy as David for nearly a year, but what if I can’t be any longer? What should I be if I can’t be David? Perhaps another David? Or yet another?

I see, and the wiki confirms, something I had never noticed before; Michelangelo’s David is uncircumcised! You’d think Michelangelo would have gotten that detail right.

Being Michaelangelo, I imagine he might have had knowledge of what an uncircumcised penis looks like. But his audience probably wouldn’t have, and they’d have viewed an historically accurate, circumcised David as deformed and ugly.
