About The Decline of Genius

Technically, I am a genius, but I never have felt like one; certainly my parents raised me barely to know it and never to show it.

Nor do I live my life as if I am one. On the contrary, I strive for temperance, balance, prudence, self-control, equanimity and moderation in most things. I have known quite a few people of astounding intelligence. I am an intellectual pygmy in comparison and I like it that way.

Those people who don’t share my opinions, or who do things differently, are not stupid or foolish. They may, however, often be thoughtless or inconsiderate, and it is my aim to think and to consider on their behalf, to the best of my ability.

The Decline of Genius is my gift to mankind.
